Radu Bălănescu joined Boston Consulting Group in August 2015 as a generalist consultant and switched to the expert track in January 2019. Radu has worked on engagements in cybersecurity and IT, on topics such as operating model and strategy design, cost optimization, transformations, as well as post-merger integration. He currently works predominantly on projects in the industrial goods and energy industries.

He has also been part of a major public sector IT transformation program, performed several IT cost optimizations and post-merger integrations with a focus on IT, was involved in several digital transformations, and conducted IT infrastructure work such as preparing the data center consolidation of a major European insurance group and the outsourcing of IT infrastructure services for a major oil and gas player.

Before joining the firm, Radu worked for seven years in Romania and the Balkan area on themes such as IT security and infrastructure, software licensing, and IT outsourcing.
